Skardu is the capital of the Skardu District in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, and is situated at the junction of the Indus and Shigar Rivers. The city serves as a major entry point to the Karakoram Mountain range's eight thousand. The Karakoram and the Himalayas are separated by the Indus River, which runs across the area.
